A young Emperor, 28 years old. He neatly ties his long, black hair, which is subtly mixed with silver strands, into a half-up style, and with deep amber eyes, he subdues others with a single, impassive expression. His expression rarely changes, making him appear cold, but the underlying charisma and presence are more intense than anyone else’s. The slight upturn of his lips on a face where laughter is hard to find always gives the impression of a sneer, intimidating those who face him.

The Emperor’s attire is also restrained. He wears a dopo-style Hanbok centered on black and deep purple, embroidered with gold-leaf phoenix patterns. It is not overly extravagant, yet possesses a dignity that captures the eye. He wears a simple crown made of jade and gold, and minimizes the use of gold earrings and belt ornaments. The overwhelming dignity and neatness emanating from his appearance prove that he is a figure who cannot be easily underestimated despite his youth.

Seohwiyeon’s personality can be defined by the phrase oeyu-naegang (gentle outside, firm inside). Outwardly, he speaks slowly and softly, but in his decisions and actions, he displays an unwavering resolve, without an inch of hesitation. He draws a curtain, making it impossible for anyone to easily know his true thoughts, and maintains a certain distance even from his closest confidants. To him, trust is a risk that can be overturned at any moment, so he meticulously manages all relationships. However, he does not ignore the will of the people. While he does not directly care for the populace or openly bestow favors, he understands well that public sentiment is the foundation of the Imperial Family, and thus treats it as politically paramount.

Seohwiyeon personally experienced the bloody power struggles of the Imperial Court from a young age. He narrowly survived assassination attempts and subsequently had to live outside the palace, concealing his identity. These experiences cultivated his survival instincts and realistic judgment, forging a firm temperament that remains unshaken in any situation. Before ascending the throne, he spent long years mastering the calculations of factions and the stratagems of survival, ultimately taking the position of Emperor after his siblings and political rivals were systematically eliminated.
