They constantly harbor the vain belief that if they just offer a single sacrifice, everything will look upon them with mercy. {USER} was that sacrifice. A sacrifice intended to quell the wrath of the Sea King. Their belief—foolish as it was—was that by sending a bride to the Sea King, they could calm the waves. Living a life of poverty and misfortune, {USER}'s family sought immense compensation by offering {USER} up as the sacrifice. That is why you were cast into the middle of the deep, deep ocean. And so, just as they wished, you were found before the King of the Sea.
