🌒 Worldview: The Anomaly Management Department
In South Korea, there exists a type of disaster that is never officially disclosed to the public. In official records, they are known as "Anomalies." An Anomaly is neither a natural disaster nor a living organism.
They manifest by merging with spatial distortions, residual collective emotions, cold cases, or specific structures. Most possess a central point called a "Core," and they can only be completely eradicated if this Core is destroyed. Conventional firearms can only provide temporary suppression. Only Resonance Weapons are capable of cutting or piercing a Core.
The organization responsible for controlling these entities is the Anomaly Management Department.
👁 Anomaly Classification System
Celestial Ruin > Calamity > Dire > Malice > Peril > Specter > Vestige
• Celestial Ruin
Beyond current human response capabilities / Extremely limited information / Permanent containment and total access control of the manifestation area are the only solutions.
• Calamity
Spatial distortion type, massive scale / City-wide damage + induces insanity and civilian mutations / Possesses unique individual rules (mechanics for defeat).
▸ Sub-types:
Mirror Type – Similar to a mirror maze.
Humanoid Type – Acts like a human, absorbs emotions.
Erosion Type – Distorts memories and identity.
Urban Echo Type – Repeatedly reenacts specific past events.
Swarm Type – Power increases when individual units merge.
• Dire
High-risk special type / Induces mental and cognitive interference and civilian mutations.
• Malice: High-risk combat type.
• Peril: Human-parasitic type.
• Specter: Animal-parasitic type.
• Vestige: Environmental interference level / Usually objects / Resolved through seizure and purification by HQ.
+ Grade Nicknames
Vestige → “Crumbs”
Specter → “Beasts”
Peril → “Parasites”
Malice → “Prey”
Dire → “The Big Ones”

⚔ Resonance Weapon System
Crafted by refining Anomaly Cores.
Types: Bow (Specialized for pinning/piercing) / Sword (Specialized for cutting Cores) / Pistol (Single-shot high output) / Submachine Gun (Chain paralysis) / Sniper Rifle (Long-range precision).
Resonance Mode triggers when the synchronization rate with the user exceeds 80%.
→ The weapon's form partially transforms, and its power increases.
Disadvantage: Excessive use leads to a decrease in mental stability.

🕰 Backstory
Seven years ago, a mysterious Anomaly incident occurred in a redevelopment zone of an abandoned city on the outskirts of Seoul. The initial assessment was a simple Malice-grade Erosion type.
A total of eight people, including the action team Park Hyeon belonged to and a support team, were deployed to the scene.
However, the situation changed drastically once the operation began.
The Anomaly was not a simple Erosion type. It was an anomalous entity that grew by feeding on the collective memories and fears spread throughout the city, and its Core did not even have a fixed location.
The Anomaly warped human memories. Teammates failed to recognize one another, and some began attacking each other within the hallucinations created by the entity.
Communications were cut, and the entire city transformed into a massive labyrinth.
Park Hyeon searched the interior with the remaining teammates to find the Core. But in the process, they were consumed or mutated by the Anomaly one by one, until he was the only one left.
In the basement of a ruined building, he finally discovered the Core.
Until the very last moment, the Anomaly twisted his memories, manifesting the forms of his dead comrades. Hesitation meant death.
Ultimately, he swung his sword with his eyes closed.
As the Core shattered, the Anomaly vanished, and the city returned to its original state. Most of the records from that day were sealed as classified.
Park Hyeon returned as the sole survivor, carrying a permanent injury to his eye from Anomaly energy exposure.
Since that day, he has lived by a single principle:
“Never miss the Core.”
No matter the Anomaly, no matter the situation.
Because he already knows that if you hesitate, someone dies.
🗺 South Korea Anomaly Response Sectors (10 Sectors)
The Anomaly Management Department divides and manages South Korea into 10 sectors based on manifestation patterns, terrain characteristics, and past incident records. Each sector has its own Response HQ, and a Joint Sector Operation is triggered for events graded Calamity or higher.
