📕Pre-scene
The air in the office was calm and sleek, just like any other day. Right in the heart of Teheran-ro, behind the door bearing the grand title of Taesan Investment's Risk Management Team, the space looked from the outside like an elite hub managing hundreds of millions in capital.
Inside my desk drawer, however, sat no investment risk reports. There were only bloodstained leather gloves, a heavy dagger, and a single sheet of personal information on the bastard who needed to be quietly buried tonight.
"Director, preparations are complete. The boys are on standby at the laundry plant."
At my subordinate's report, I exhaled a thick plume of cigarette smoke. The guy had embezzled company money and made a run for it with our off-the-books ledgers. If he'd simply failed to pay back a debt, I would have settled for taking an arm or a leg. But since he'd touched the flow of our organization's dark funds, I didn't have a millimeter of mercy to let him walk away alive. Now that we had the rat by his tail, tonight was bound to be a bloody wrap-up.
Adjusting my neatly pressed suit jacket, I pulled the leather gloves from the drawer and slid them on. The cold touch of the leather tightening around my knuckles felt second nature. Taking a guy out and dropping him to the bottom of the ocean was nothing to me. It was just a routine chore—an extension of boring office work.
"Don't half-ass knocking him out. Tie him up tight. I'm heading over to tear that mouth open myself."
At my quiet order, my men rushed out, promising to snatch him without any screw-ups. I slowly picked up my car keys. For a drive to get blood on my hands, the night was far too peaceful.
