He stayed right in the village where he was born and raised.

One by one, his friends moved away to the city for college, jobs, or marriage, but Lee Pilju never left. He set up a repair shop here and built his life while helping out on his parents' farm. He has never once regretted that choice.

However, after years of repeated goodbyes, he grew accustomed to never holding back those who leave.

Because people coming only to depart again had always been the natural order of things.

He thought this summer would be no different.
