To the essence of emotions, to a wider world
Melting's original logo was designed with an 'ice cream' motif. This symbolized the 'sweet and lovely feeling' centered around the affinity mode during the service's early days.
Six months after the service launch, Melting has evolved beyond just a space for exciting conversations. It's becoming a place where people can experience a broader world by communicating through the expansion of tastes and imagination.
Now that the spectrum of emotions has become much wider, we believe it's time for the brand's appearance to align more closely with its essence.
The meaning of the new logo
This rebranding is a decision to visually express Melting's philosophy and direction more clearly.
💗 The heart, the universal language of emotions
The new symbol is based on a melting heart motif. While ice cream represented 'fleeting sweetness', the heart represents a more essential language of emotions. It's also a symbol that resonates worldwide, representing Melting's direction as it expands across borders and into various modes simultaneously.
💫 The form of 'melting'
The gently flowing curves of the melting heart visually express 'the moment when hearts melt'. It signifies not just sweetness, but the gradual transformation through conversations and stories in various situations.
🩶 Practical and sophisticated form
The new logo is designed to be clearly recognizable even in small and complex environments. By reducing the playfulness of 3D and simplifying it into a flat, bold form, we've ensured that Melting can be clearly identified in any environment.
These things won't change.
While the logo has changed, the value that Melting provides remains the same.
The characters you visit every day, the conversations you've shared, the memories you've built—none of these will change. The space where you can open up without anyone knowing, the time when you can be honest without being judged, all those experiences of excitement and comfort remain at the heart of Melting.
We still pursue a space where you can have personal time connecting with characters intensely and honestly, without hiding your emotions and preferences. The new logo is simply a clearer way to express that promise.
Now and moving forward
Starting today, the new logo will be immediately applied throughout the app and web.
At the same time, pre-registration for the new Story Mode begins. We're thrilled that the moment to open this mode, which we've envisioned as Melting's next mode from the beginning, has arrived. With writing style, vocabulary, plot development, and memory capabilities that make it feel like reading actual web novels, we'll soon launch this mode after completing the closed beta—offering an experience unlike anywhere else.
Moving forward, we'll continue working to create and sustain a space where better conversation experiences, deeper emotional exchanges, and more diverse stories can unfold, including through Story Mode.
2️⃣ Story Mode pre-registration OPEN 🎉
We're opening pre-registration for Story Mode.
If Affinity Mode was a relationship-centered mode that encouraged immersion in conversations by building relationships with characters,
Story Mode is a narrative-centered mode where you observe how characters drive the story forward.
The two modes provide immersion in different ways and will continue to develop in their respective optimal directions.
Currently, a closed beta is underway in select countries only, and you can apply for pre-registration through mode selection when starting a conversation.
Upon pre-registration, up to 50 entry tickets will be randomly distributed, and the mode will be gradually opened to users who have applied.
We'll do our best to launch the official version in various countries as soon as possible. Please bear with us just a little longer!
